Who We Are

North Star Sail Club is a member run organization established in 1946 to support sailboat racing on Lake St Clair.  We are members of DRYA, ABYRA, ABYA, ILYA, USSA and Yachting Clubs of America.  Membership in our club is a great value in boating and friendships.  Our club facilities offer a fun place to gather on the south shore of the Clinton River with easy access to Lake St Clair.  The benefits are many including reasonably priced boat wells, clubhouse use and many  racing, fun sail and social events throughout the year

Being a member run club, accomplishing as much as possible with member involvement serves to strengthen relationships among members in addition to controlling expenses and maintaining affordable costs associated with membership and well rental. 

We also have a very active Junior Sailing program offering instruction from basic sailing to advanced racing skills and tactics for both juniors and adults. In addition, our junior sailors have gained widespread recognition in regatta competition all around the Great Lakes.

North Star also sponsors weeknight and weekend fun sails, races and regattas in addition to numerous organized cruising and social events. The clubhouse and grounds are always available to members for private events.
